Bid Team

BID team

Our BID team consists of an operational paid manager supported by a business support coordinator and a voluntary board of directors drawn from the business community in Andover. Our board members represent the multitude of sectors covered by our levy-paying Andover Town centre businesses. When a vacancy occurs, any levy-paying business may apply to join the board and an appointment is made to complement the make-up of the board.

Ange Moon

Chair, BID Board of Directors

Ange has 20 years of experience in the Citizens Advice service and has been Chief Officer of Citizens Advice Test Valley since 2014. That role takes her out and about, throughout the whole of Test Valley. She has lived in Andover for the last 32 years and is very familiar with the town and its multitude of businesses. As a longstanding Andover resident, she has seen many changes to the town. Ange feels that over the past 10 years the town has lost its identity and she is committed to help put Andover back on the map by being an active participant in the BID team.

Chris Podszus

Vice-Chair, BID Board of Directors

Chris was appointed to the BID’s Board of Directors in 2019 and became vice-chair in March 2020. Chris represents Simplyhealth as one of Andover’s largest employers. He brings a wealth of experience to the Andover Town BID in terms of stakeholder engagement, local government, and public policy. Chris considers Andover to be a fantastic town and a great place to live and work, with a prime geographic location. He can see the great potential and is determined to help the BID team enhance Andover’s local offer and bring new opportunities for business.

Sarah Robinson

BID Board Director

Sarah was part of the steering group that helped establish Andover BID. She is a partner at Oaktree Accountants, looking after client relationships as well as overseeing accounts and tax work. Oaktree is a long-established business in the town and provides accountancy, taxation and bookkeeping services for businesses and individuals. Sarah knows many of the businesses in the town and has joined the BID board because she believes Andover has so much to offer and the business-led BID team will help to make a real difference.

Amy Mellor

BID Board Director

Amy runs a retail business and brings to the BID Board her wide-ranging experience in marketing and consumerisms. Amy is a millennial and has grown up in the technological era, giving her a perspective on how technology has completely altered the way we shop and communicate. She is an ‘enthusiastic shopper’ herself and understands what attracts her generation to towns, events, and stores. Amy is keen to help build the reputation of Andover, and to increase the awareness of retail businesses, particularly the independent retailers.

Bev Botha

BID Board Director

Bev owns Andover’s well-loved cupcake shop, The Travelling Cupcake, established six years ago after starting out as a pop-up shop. Bev cares passionately about Andover and believes the town has the potential to really blossom. She is keen that new businesses and particularly independents are attracted to the town and are given every encouragement and support to develop and flourish. Bev aims to ensure that BID is a strong and active voice for Andover businesses, articulating their views when decisions about the town are being made.

Mark Leech

BID Board Director

Mark was a founding member and one-time chair of the former steering committee. Mark has been a great asset in securing the buy-in of businesses in the BID-Area and he plays a significant role in guiding policy matters, to meet the interests of local businesses. Mark continues to build on this strong foundation, helping to ensure that the ongoing concerns and priorities of all BID-Area businesses are listened to, represented, and actioned.

Chris Attrill

BID Board Director

Chris is the Chief Executive of Valley Leisure, a charitable trust in the leisure sector. His skills are varied, with an emphasis on high standards and excellent service. Chris has a young family and cares about Andover. He believes BID has a positive impact on the town, bringing a sound and proven approach in these challenging times. As a Board Director, Chris brings a balanced and strategic approach to the team, combined with advice on strong governance. In addition, his creative skills are able to support the dynamic work undertaken by BID.

Samantha Travella

BID Board Director

Samantha is an experienced property Solicitor, working at Barker Son and Isherwood. They are a local firm, committed to offering a range of legal services to the community of Andover and surrounding regions. Samantha is relatively new to the area, but having spent time in and around the town, she can see Andover’s potential and how BID can make a lasting, positive impact on the town and surrounding areas. Samantha’s legal background complements the team’s professional make-up.

Cliff Osborne

BID Board Director

Cliff is the branch manager at Newbury Building Society (NBS) Andover, an independent mutual building society. NBS is a community-based organisation, working with local charities and organisations such as The Lights. To this end, NBS actively supports local initiatives to improve Andover’s town centre profile, its visitor footfall and its economy. Cliff has worked at Andover NBS for the last six years, standing him in good stead to assist Andover BID in its vision to make the town a more vibrant and appealing place to live, work, shop and visit.

Georgina Roberts

BID Board Director

As a retailer for over 24 years in Andover, Georgina is well-placed to assist the Andover BID team with its plans to make Andover a more inviting place to shop. Georgina considers the regeneration plans are a fantastic improvement, but she feels more needs to be done now to make the town more vibrant. With many years of experience in display, Georgina brings new ideas to brighten up the town. As a former chair of Andover Carnival, she understands the challenges, and with her experience, she brings a complementary input to Andover BID’s plans.

Steve Godwin

Andover BID Manager

Steve was appointed manager at the start of Andover’s first five-year term, 2019–2024, to introduce and develop the new BID to the town. Steve brings a wealth of experience gained in the commercial and charitable sectors. His experience includes building Salisbury’s BID to achieve a huge majority for its second term. Steve is delighted to be working in Andover, with its long trading and business history, which now includes some very large and significant employers. With Steve’s input, BID will help develop Andover’s potential.

Andy Hunt

Business Support Co-Ordinator

Andy supports Steve in the work of the Andover BID. Andy is a local and aims to build strong relationships to establish good communications with local businesses. This is key to implementing the BID effectively and he plans to meet as many BID members as possible to find out what they would like from Andover BID. Meeting each BID member will not only establish positive relationships, but it will also provide an opportunity to discuss what’s happening within their business, whilst offering help with their activities – for example special offers and events.
