A-Fest 2023

Here is what you can look forward to Andover’s youth festival, A-Fest, will be back onto the High Street for its ninth year, encouraging young people and their families to try something new, with plenty of opportunities to get hands-on with activities on the day.

There will be five themed Zones, containing activities, stalls and organisations. Each zone will have a range of activities and experiences for young people and their families on the day.

Performance Zone
Delivered by Grant Hardy from Illusion Events, a variety of activities including setting up lighting rigs, and mixing desks, instrument practice and more, to learn about the world of music and performance, with the support of Elite Sound and Light, Andover Youth Dance Company and The Theming Company.

Identity and Self Zone
Delivered by Shelley Coburn from InAndover and Andy Fitchet from Bridge Street Methodist Church, this zone will explore your identity and individuality, with the support of the LifeBus, Marie Ponting, Andover Cultural Sharing Forum, and more.

Health and Wellbeing Zone
Delivered by Jason Holmes of Coaching in the Community CIC, the zone will feature a variety of sports and movement activities for young people to enjoy.

Arts and Crafts Zone
Led by John Ritchie from The Artroom, the zone enables people to try new craft activities, and take home your creations, as well as buy a £2 starter kit to carry on a range of activities at home.

Dmitrijs Meiksans, co-organiser of the festival, said, “So many organisations are ready to showcase what they have to offer to the young people of our town, plus the amazing attractions, demonstrations and music, making it an incredibly fun day for all, as part of the all new format of the event.  Please come along!”

A-Fest is proud to be supported by Test Valley Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Andover Town Council and the National Lottery.

Katherine Bird, co-organiser of the festival, said, “I am very excited for A-Fest this year. As well as everything happening on the High Street, the event is a testament of what can be done when local organisations and activists work together to create something positive for the town.”
