Half Term Activities at Andover Museum

What’s On at Andover Museum May Half-Term and Jubilee Weekend! We open the whole of the half-term week from 10:00 – 4:00, Monday to Sunday.
Jubilee Crafts – Celebrate HRH Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee with our family craft activities from Sat 28 May until Sunday 5 June from 10am – 4pm. You can make a crown and flag. No need to pre-book, just drop in for this activity. Children must be accompanied for this activity. Suitable for children aged 3yrs+. FREE activity. Donations to Hampshire Cultural Trust are welcome.
Jubilee Cream Teas – Celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years of service with a Platinum Jubilee cream tea in our Cafe, served throughout the day 10am – 4pm over the Platinum Jubilee weekend Thurs 2- Sun 5 June. £5 per person. Drop in – no need to pre-book.

Mini Archaeologist – Find out how to be a mini archaeologist!
Learn what archaeologists do and how they clean and record their finds. This activity will take place inside the museum in a special dig pit. Children must be supervised by their parent/carer during this activity. More details and links to online booking available soon.
Donations welcome, payable on arrival. Suitable for ages 5+
Recording Memories of Andover’s Past Jubilee Celebration – Come and record your memories of Andover’s past Jubilee celebrations for future generations to hear with our oral history volunteer at Andover Museum. Please drop in to the museum between 11am – 3pm on Thurs 2nd June.
Temporary Jubilee Exhibition – Our volunteers have but on a wonderful Jubilee Exhibition in our Shop front exhibition in our Weyhill Room. A lovely selection of objects celebrating Andover’s past Jubilee celebrations.
Andover Loft Singers – On Friday 3rd June the Andover Loft Singers will be singing at the Andover Jubilee Street Festival at 12:00 Andover Guildhall Stage and 13:00 Andover Museum
Celtic Themed Activity Box – Kids can enjoy a Celtic themed activity box during their visit to the Museum of the Iron Age this half term!
Treat yourselves to a slice of cake, crisps, hot and cold drinks and ice creams in our café. The gift shop has a variety of gifts, including pocket money toys. No need to pre-book, simply drop in!
We also have our Ice Heritage Exhibition Leather Making: Crafting Personal Pieces – This exhibition shows the processes of leather making, demonstrating the range of skills young people from ICE Heritage Leather Making and Craft group have learnt including beveling, stamping and dyeing. This exhibition finishes on the 5th June, so catch it when n you can.
